Day 1: Arrival / San José

Our representative from Leisure Travel will welcome you at the airport and will take you to your hotel in San José.

Day 2: Poas Volcano – San José

We will pick you early in the morning to take you to the Poas Volcano. On your way, you will see the Drumer Boy Statue, our National Heroe. After enjoying the coffee plantations and if weather allows it, you will see the crater of the Volcano. You will visit as well the metallic church in Grecia and Sarchí. After lunch, return to San José, where you will have the afternoon to discover the city.

Day 3: San José – Tortuguero

Scenic morning drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park. Look for cascading waterfalls. With a naturalist guide, enjoy a short rainforest hike on level terrain. Lunch in the hotel, then cruise rivers and canals to the 47,000 acre Tortuguero National Park. Tortuguero is home o more than 300 species of birds. Look for tucans, kingfishers, parrots and the rare green macaw. Enjoy a  night stay at a lodge

Day 4: Tortuguero

Cruise this morning with a naturalist guide along canals lined by raffia palm, habitat of howler and white-faced monkeys, green iguanas and tropical birds. Look for white and snowy egrets and the amazing nests of the Montezuma oropendola. Then, enter the mysterious reflecting waters of Caño Palma wildlife reserve. Next, visit the turle’s nesting habitat, eggs and young hatchlings (if season, July through September). Walk along the Atlantic turtle nesting beaches with a naturalist guide. Next, to Tortuguero Village. Meet Costa Rican school children on your visit to local school (when in session). Return to your lodge for lunch. Free time to enjoy your lodge swimming pool and tropical flower gardens. Diner at the hotel.

Day 5: Tortuguero – Arenal

Morning boat tour on Tortuguero Canals. See banana plantation. Lunch. A shuttle transportation will pick you up to take you to Arenal, for a 2 night stay in Fortuna area.

Day 6: Arenal

Day to enjoy the area. You have several adventure activities such as canopy tours, hanging bridges as well as more relaxing such as trekking through the National Park or hot springs.

Day 7: Arenal – Manuel Antonio

Shuttle transportation to Manuel Antonio National Park.

Day 8: Manuel Antonio

Day to relax in the National park.

Day 9: Manuel Antonio – San José

Relax in your hotel, in the afternoon, we will bring you back to San José in a shuttle transfer.

Day 10: Departure

According to your flight departure, we will take you to the airport
