Day 1: Belize City / Caye Caulker

You will arrive at the International Airport in Belize City. After you clear customs and pick up your luggage, you will be greeted by a representative who will give you a warm welcome to Belize. You will then check for an island hopper in the same airport that will take you to Caye Caulker. The flight is 15 minutes and you’ll get to see some beautiful aerial views of the coastline. When you arrive at the Airstrip in Caye Caulker a hotel representative will greet you and drive you to your hotel. You will be staying at Caye Caulker Condos in a First Floor Suite.

Caye Caulker Condos

This 4 story condo-style apartment building is just a few steps from the Split, the main hang-out spot on the island, where you can swim, sunbath or enjoy a few drinks at the Lazy Lizard bar. All the rooms, come with a kitchenette and a balcony facing the sea. The roof of the building is an open deck with a small palapa and beach chairs. From here you will get nice panoramic views of the village and Split. You can even arrange with the front desk to have a local cook prepare a nice meal in your room. Overall, it is a good option for enjoying a few days on the island.

Day 2: Caye Caulker

You will have another free day to relax. You can go for a swim at The Split or walk around the sandy streets of Caye Caulker Village to explore. There are several quaint restaurants and bars to enjoy.

Day 3: Hol Chan Marine Reserve & Coral Gardens / Caye Caulker

Today you will go snorkeling to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Coral Gardens. This tour is done aboard a sailboat offering you a fun filled day of sailing and snorkeling. The sailboat is a traditional wooden monohull painted in bright colors. You will set sail from the island and head north to a popular snorkeling spot called Coral Gardens. As the name implies there are lots of coral heads here with plenty of reef fish. Then you will jump into Shark Ray Alley where you can swim with nurse sharks and southern sting rays. Next you will snorkel Hol Chan’s main snorkeling site where you will see plenty of large fish and colorful corals. You will usually head back to the island just in time to catch a nice sunset while lounging on the sailboat’s deck. The tour lasts a full day.

Day 4: Caye Caulker

You will have another free day to relax. Take advantage of the island’s relaxed atmosphere. Lie on hammock or read a good back. In the afternoon you can grab some happy hour cocktails.

Day 5: Ruins of Lamanai / Caye Caulker

Today you will visit the Maya Ruins of Lamanai. You will take a boat to the mainland and then head up the New River, a beautiful jungle river where you can spot wildlife along the way. The river opens up into the New River Lagoon with Lamanai perched right on its banks. Located in the Orange Walk district, Lamanai had one of the longest histories known in the Maya world, being continuously occupied from 1500 BC to 1675 AD, up to the arrival of Spanish conquistadors. It offers one of Belize’s largest ceremonial centers, perched right along the New River Lagoon. Howler monkeys and many species of tropical birds live in the surrounding jungle. Nearby lay the remains of an old sugar mill as well. After a fun day of exploring, you will return to Caye Caulker by boat.

Day 6: Caye Caulker

You will have another free day to relax. Eat some as much seafood as you can take. The restaurants on the island serve fresh seafood. The lobster should not be missed. The fishermen on the island catch some of the best lobster in Belize. At night, try and catch some live music and enjoy your last night on beautiful Caye Caulker.

Day 7: Caye Caulker / Belize City

You will check out of your hotel and they will drop you off at the Airstrip to catch your island hopper directly to the International Airport. You will arrive in time to check in for your international flight back home. Goodbye Belize.
